Garry Trinh

Garry Trinh is a Sydney based photographer that recently completed a new photo series entitled 'Our Spot.' While the photos may appear to be quite observational and simple at first, they're actual quite powerful when viewed in succession. While the photographs specifically speak to the dissolution of the monuments of Trinh's youth (skate parks), I feel that they're very much universal in the reaction that they elicit in the viewer- the ever increasing erosion of personal monuments in an increasingly changing world. While the world has always evolved, it feels as though it is physically evolving at a breakneck pace like never before. And, the outcome? Monuments that are extremely temporal in their connection to our personal legacies, histories and narratives. To see both 'Our Spot' and Trinh's othere work click here. Enjoy, Ben Pobjoy
