Sam Friedman exhibition opens at the Emporium Gallery next week!


Sam Friedman's So is it just bacon here? exhibition will open at the Emporium Gallery (3035 St. Antoine Ouest #74) on Thursday, April 16th from 7PM-11PM. The exhibition will be open Saturday, April 18th- Sunday, April 19th 2009 from 12PM - 5PM. Private viewings available by appointment from Monday, April 20th to Wednesday, April 22nd 2009.

About So, is it just bacon here?-
Sam Friedman is a Brooklyn-based artist who has contributed art to the New York Times, the Village Voice, Business Week and many others. Having already exhibited in New York, Los Angeles and Boston, So, is it just bacon here? represents Friedman's first Canadian exhibition- one that will feature 40 new, small artworks made especially for this exhibition.

Artist Statement-
"This is a collection of mainly smaller pictures on paper. They were all made in my studio in Brooklyn, NY and shipped to Canada for this show. I hope you enjoy them."

About Sam Friedman
Sam Friedman was raised in Oneonta New York. At eighteen he moved to New York City. He and his wife Laura Carmelita Bellmont share a small apartment together and he rents a studio a few blocks away. His day to day is a mix of painting, illustrating, lettering, odd jobs, and the occasional mural. You can see Sam Friedman's website here.
